Very clear unpublished overdate, even more so as there are no known Sevillian coins dated 1643 for this denomination of 8 escudos. Full four-digit date and obverse legend almost complete. Squares in the corners of the cross and roundels in the lobular corners. Magnificent bold strike, excellent eye appeal and large flan with all its data perfectly visible. Only 5-6 specimens known for this date 1644, but this is the first specimen we know of with overdate. Extremely rare. XF.
